Yesterday, we took a well-earned rest day in Wolf Point, Montana. There was not much going on in the small reservation town. However, we did manage to find a Brewpub and a nice hotel room where the wind wasn't blowing.
We departed at 5 a.m. this morning with the hope of avoiding the wind. We were successful for the first hour of the ride. As forecasted, the winds begin to blow by 7 a.m. By the time we arrived at our campsite at noon the winds we're directly in our face at a steady 22 miles per hour, gusting as high as 33.
The ride was straight west on US Highway 2, also known asthe High Line. It is the major highway and rail line across the northern United States.
It was not much of a day for pictures or sightseeing, it was just a day of survival. I did take one picture of the Montana pastures, which is about all we saw all day long. I spend most of the day looking at my speedometer and odometer praying to get closer to the destination and trying to keep my speed of 8 miles per hour.
